In many cases you will not require any additional software. In some cases a simple open source product,
a minor piece of bespoke programming or a web-service will provide you with extended capabilities.
In almost all cases ETS/REIMS can be extended to meet your requirements.
Do I need to upgrade to REIMS? It all depends what you want to achieve. REIMS does provide new processing options
that may meet specific requirements. It is also essential for access to the IBM network - if you require full
end-to-end status reporting. If this is not essential then there are alternative means of connecting. Added content types like XML
may incur additional costs. If your current version of ETS supports objects then adding XML functionality can be achieved at very little additional cost.
