Shared Skills offer a cost effective hosted service option: JCommerceUK.NET.
This provides an effective means of becoming E-Commerce enabled
without the more significant capital expenditure of an on-site solution.
The hosted service can provide all the functionality of the on-site
solution including EDI and XML translation to the majority of end
system standards (see practical
integration for more information).
Low cost integration
. For most companies with less than 5 or 6 trading partners,
the hosted solution takes the worry of the day to day maintenance
off your hands and puts it in the hands of experts.
Your only requirement will be to connect to the service
using a secure connector that will send and receive the
interface files over the internet, as opposed to the speed
limited VAN dial-up connections.

to receive and print your orders or invoices directly from
a web browser. You can then invoice by completing a form based
on the original order. |

We are in the process of testing an ebXML messaging solution.
This will enable companies that currently trade using EDI
or XML to offer ebXML connectivity across the supply chain.
ebXML is a practical implementation of Web Services being
advocated by e.centre and is likely to become widely used
across industry and commerce.
