Practical Strategy

Companies typically meet the same strategic issues. These include:

  • Short term requirement to meet specific demands, but without compromising longer term strategic aims such as a change to a new business system or the move away from the conventional VAN technologies.
  • The need to demonstrate tangible business benefits for a specific investment.
  • The need to accommodate the new up and coming technologies and initiatives (e.g. Web Services) as they become mainstream.

Shared Skills are confident that the JCommerce range of products and services offer a natural strategic route for the majority of customers. The products have the adaptability to handle all your all existing EDI requirements, but with the clear ability to manage future focussed technologies. The hosted option also provides an ideal opportunity for companies to "dip their toe in the water" for a minimal capital expenditure. They can then, at any time, move the operation in-house, without the costs of major redevelopment of interfaces and mappings.

We recognize however that JCommerce is not the obvious choice for every company. You may already have made a significant investment in a different e-commerce enabling solution. Shared Skills have a good understanding of many of these products and will happily work with you to ensure, where appropriate, that these continue to form an effective part of the end strategic solution.

Shared Skills have a number of consultants with a high level of expertise in the REIMS and ETS products. We can work with you to extend the capability of this capable product, most notably in the practical use of its XML functionality linked to a future Web Service strategy.
